Whether you choose to go with google adsense, widgetbucks, or a custom built solution, ads can turn your website from an expense into an asset. Google ads are the easiest to set up and manage. They are also the most common ad program seen on the web today.

Widgetbucks is a fairly new player to the field, and instead of trying to take google adsense head on, they focused on a product market. Their ads showcase items from a category of your choosing varying from books, movies, technology, to even "green items" so that almost any page can have a widgetbucks ad that has relevant products displayed. It's a little bit harder to set up, and to ensure the product ads each account needs to have the admin's deactivate a certain type of flash ads that are less than ideal. So if your site's visitors would more likely be apt to click on an add for a product on sale, then these ads can generate more revenue than google's business ads. Additionally widgetbucks pays out in smaller increments, so if you have a lower traffic site it can mean getting paid much sooner. Also, it is not against the license of either ad program to display both ads on your website, so there is no harm in signing up for both if you have the space.

Finally we are currently developing a toolbox for quick and easy deployment of a variety of ad displays, including banner ads, flash ads, and even "delay" ads that first display a large premium ad before non-registered visitors are able to view premium content on your site.
